The Market brings fresh produce to the Duluth campus to promote a healthy workplace and a healthy lifestyle for employees and people from the surrounding neighborhoods. Depending on availability, vendors from the Lake Superior Sustainable Farming Association (SFA) offer fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, cut flowers, farm fresh pasture raised eggs, organic culinary herbs, bedding plants, hanging baskets, perennials, annuals, vegetable transplants, jams, jellies, home canned goods, meats, honey, lotions, balms, cold relief teas and drops, tinctures, skin products (including itch/rash relief), tub tea bags, crafts, greeting cards and more.
In addition, a constantly changing art bazaar will feature fun artsy goods, book signings, and demonstrations from local artists and crafters: everything from jewelry and decorative garden stakes to paintings, craft items, and hand blown glassworks.
Each Wednesday this summer, UMD Stores will give away 20 black UMD reusable bags. If you use your black reusable bag at the UMD Store, you can receive 20% off one regularly priced item (some exclusions apply). They will also have ½ price fountain pop & Arco hot beverages and many specials on UMD wear, gifts, bargain books, and more inside the store.
UMD Market Day in the Plaza is sponsored by the Lake Superior Sustainable Farming Association, UMD Stores, Plaza Food Court, and UMD Wellness Program.
